The Contacta STS–SU1–SS is a version of the STS-SU1-B or STS-SU1-G Staff Speech Transfer Unit, finished in Stainless Steel. This unit comes as standard with the STS-K060 Slimline Kit, but can also be used as a replacement for the other Speech Transfer kits Contacta provides. If a stainless steel requirement is needed on the staff side of the counter, the STS-SU1-SS is particularly applicable – especially in medical facilities.

As with the other STS-SU1 microphones, the unit is composed of a microphone to allow staff to speak with the public side of the counter and an integrated loudspeaker allowing the staff to listen to the public. The microphone is made from a semi-rigid material which can be positioned to your liking, in addition to a privacy button that ensures confidentiality between staff/public sides.

The internal loudspeaker has an impedance of 4 ohms and is rated at 5W, which results in a unit that can produce 85dB at 1w/1m; more than adequate for virtually all public counters and security partitions. The microphone has a cardioid pattern to help minimise feedback and background noise. The frequency response of 150Hz to 10300Hz is ideal for voice reception and broadcast.
