The Contacta IL–PL21 is a small Boundary Microphone, designed to be placed directly onto the surface of a desk or counter. It can also be used alongside the IL-PL20 Portable Induction Loop System, to provide a further audio input source. The IL-PL21 has been superseded by the IL-PL30. This product can pick up audio from every angle, thanks to its omnidirectional pick-up pattern (which means it’s particularly useful for making sure the audio from several people gets fed into the Loop System), but can also be perfect for picking up the ambient noise in a room or the audio from a TV. It can also pick up the noise of a telephone/doorbell, making it a handy addition to any domestic solution.
